Counseling for Trauma and PTSD
Have you experienced an event you wished that you hadn't? Does it pop up in your mind every day, or even every once in a while? Do you wish that you could erase that part of your memory?
We're here to help.
Traumatic Experiences
The word "trauma" does not just apply to a life-threatening experience. Trauma is highly personal, and events that were traumatic for one person may not be traumatic to others. Just like each person's experience of trauma is unique, Kaleigh strives to make the treatment of trauma unique, tailored to each person's needs and goals.
Personalized Counseling
Do you want to move past your trauma, focus on the present, and figure out how to live now that you've lived through it? Kaleigh can help with that.
Do you want to dive deep in to your trauma, figuring out exactly how it's affected you? Kaleigh can help with that, too.
Kaleigh recognizes that different people need different approaches, and that the same person may need different approaches throughout their lifetime. Kaleigh focuses mainly on somatic and narrative approaches to trauma, helping survivors retrain their brains for safety and security.
Sexual Trauma and Childhood Sexual Abuse
Kaleigh recognizes that both adult sexual trauma and childhood sexual abuse (CSA) are prevalent in the US. As of 2014, 1 in 9 girls and 1 in 20 boys experienced childhood sexual abuse. The rate for adult women is higher - 1 in just 6 women have experienced sexual trauma in their lifetime.
Kaleigh is committed to empowering victims of sexual trauma and CSA to process their experiences, take control of their bodies and lives, and learn to thrive.
